17-T Somatocri-MX Review

Our Rating

17-t-somatocri-mx-review

SCI MX have a good reputation in the UK, so we’re looking for their new product. We were excited when we saw 17-T Somatocri MX, as it had an unusual name – so we couldn’t wait to see what’s inside.

Claimed to Promote:

  • Testosterone levels
  • Sleep quality

This is an interesting testosterone booster, as you’re instructed to take it before sleep – much like a sleeping pill or ZMA. So let’s see if this different approach by SCI MX works.

About the Company

SCI MX are a UK-based supplements company, and claim to be the 2nd biggest in the country. They’re well-known for their protein shakes, but there isn’t much information about them on their website.

Let’s cut to the chase, and see how good 17-T Somatocri MX is.

The Ingredients and How They Work

The first thing we noticed about 17-T Somatocri MX, was the fact you were advised to consume 6 capsules per serving – this is a massive amount of capsules to take at once (even for those that don’t have a problem consuming pills). If you don’t like taking pills, then you’ll want to look for another test booster to try.

There are 6 main ingredients in 17-T Somatocri MX, which we’ll be analyzing in this review. See for yourself:

Leucine Peptides

This is form of Branched Chain Amino Acid that’s believed to promote muscle protein synthesis. However, they haven’t proven to raise your testosterone levels in any study; as a result, Leucine Peptides aren’t necessary in a testosterone booster supplement.

Ornithine Alpha-Ketoglutarate

This is an ionic salt believed to encourage your body to produce more Arginine; this will enhance your blood flow (and therefore muscle pumps).

But an increase in Arginine levels hasn’t shown to have much impact on your testosterone levels – again, this is another ingredient that’s not really needed in a testosterone booster supplement.

Phosphatidylserine

This is a fat-soluble compound that’s found in high amounts in fish, and is thought to improve your cognition. However, a boost in focus and memory won’t have any impact on your testosterone levels.

From what we’re seeing so far of 17-T Somatocri MX, it seems more like a Nootropic than a testosterone booster…

L-Theanine

L-Theanine is a relaxing agent shown to be beneficial when consumed with caffeine; it enhances the benefits of caffeine without increasing your risk of side effects.

However, this has no effect on your testosterone booster – but it might help you sleep better (which in all fairness, is one of 17-T Somatocri MX’s claims).

As a result, L-Theanine is one of our favorite ingredients in pre-workouts – but as stimulants aren’t needed in test boosters, there’s no need for L-Theanine in these supplements.

5-Methyl-7-Methoxy-Isoflavone

This is a controversial ingredient – it’s a ‘natural non-hormonal anabolic’ that’s believed to offer ‘steroid-like effects without the side effects’.

We never like it when companies claim their natural product is as strong as steroids; there’s no way a natural test booster will ever match steroids, but you won’t experience side effects or potential cut your life short either.

Anyway, there hasn’t been enough research to claim that 5-Methyl-7-Methoxy-Isoflavone is a safe ingredient yet – so we choosing to avoid this ingredient.

It’s worrying that this is the only testosterone boosting ingredient in 17-T Somatocri MX; it seems like Sci MX has relied on 5-Methyl-7-Methoxy-Isoflavone to raise your testosterone levels.

We recommend avoiding this ingredient and checking out our ‘testosterone booster ingredients that work’ article –  learn which ingredients are safe and effective.

Bioperine

Black Pepper Extract can be useful ingredients, but it’s not a key testosterone boosting ingredient. In a nutshell, this can improve digestion and the absorption rate of a supplement – but it’s only useful when consumed with other effective ingredients.

Vitamin C

Everyone knows this vitamin, and it’s well-known for being in orange juice (as you see from most orange juice TV adverts). It’s important to keep topped up with vitamin C for your general health, but it won’t have a direct effect on your testosterone levels.

We think Vitamin C is more important to have in multi-vitamin supplements than test boosters; the best vitamin to improve your T-Levels is Vitamin D3.

ZMA

This is a patented formulation of 3 ingredients – Zinc, Magnesium and Aspartate. It’s believed to increase your testosterone levels, but no studies have shown that it actually works.

In fact, Zinc is the only ingredient here that has a positive effect on Zinc. As a result, we would’ve preferred just Zinc on its own, instead of part of ZMA here.

Side Effects

There aren’t any reported side effects when taking 17-T Somatocri MX – but we’re not completely sure that 5-Methyl-7-Methoxy-Isoflavone is safe.

As there is much research on this ingredient, we recommend avoiding  5-Methyl-7-Methoxy-Isoflavone (especially as it’s claimed to be as strong as steroids, which could cause numerous side effects).

In a nutshell, steroids can damage your organs and put stress on your blood pressure and cholesterol levels – as well as being able to increase your estrogen levels (which can lead to man boobs).

As a result, it’s not good to consume anything that’s considered a ‘steroid’ – even if it’s claimed to be natural like  5-Methyl-7-Methoxy-Isoflavone.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Vitamin C improves general health
  • Zinc shown to improve testosterone levels

Cons:

  • 6 capsules per serving (too many capsules, especially for those that don’t like swallowing them)
  • 5-Methyl-7-Methoxy-Isoflavone could cause numerous side effects
  • Numerous ingredients has no effect on testosterone levels
  • Not good value for money

17-T Somatocri-MX Review

It’s clear that SCI MX has attempted to make a new trend of supplement with 17-T Somatocri – but it hasn’t worked. In a nutshell, they tried to expand on the ZMA products available by adding extra ingredients; but this was always a bad decision, as ZMA has shown to be ineffective in numerous studies.

In even more simpler terms, SCI MX tried to fix something broken with another bad product. As a result 17-T Somatocri-MX can’t compete against the best testosterone boosters on the market.
