We’re always interested when we see a new product – and Pre W.O caught our attention when we saw the price of it; $39.99.
For a company we’ve never heard of before, we were interested to see whether this pre-workout can demand this premium price tag. In comparison, this is the same price as our favorite product on the market, so it has alot to live up to!

We have to point out how bad this company’s website is. We clicked on their ‘why dymatize’ page hoping to learn more about their company.
However, we were met with an advertisement for fitness models to join their team. This is a big mistake made by new companies – if no-one knows who you are, then you NEED to provide the information necessary to get your brand out there.
Anyway, this doesn’t ruin this review, as we can still examine the ingredients inside this pre-workout below.
We’ve just slated Dymatize’s website – but we’ll give them credit where it’s due…Pre W.O doesn’t contain any proprietary blends. This allows us to fully examine the ingredients inside this pre-workout (and find out how good it really is).

This nutrient has shown to improve your muscle pumps in the gym, making it a great addition to any pre workout supplement.
However, you need to check the dosage of this ingredient; we’ve seen numerous companies get the dosage wrong, and this is what determines how effective this ingredient will be.
Fortunately, Dymatize has dosed citrulline malate well here at 8,000mg.
If you’ve ever consumed beta-alanine before, you’ll know that it causes paresthesia (a ‘pins-and-needles’ sensation on your body, which makes you itch).
This ingredient is one of the nutrients we avoid in pre-workouts as a result.
Companies often add taurine into their pre workouts, as it’s shown to prevent you from cramping in the gym. However, you can avoid cramps by keeping yourself topped up with water; in simple terms, just take a water bottle to the gym!
Saying this, Taurine doesn’t cause any unwanted side effects, so there’s no problem with it being inside PRE W.O – it’s simply not needed either.
This is also known as trimethylglycine and is a metabolite of choline. The problem is this: there hasn’t been any studies that’ve shown betaine to be beneficial in pre workouts.
In fact, being a useless ingredient, it’s not good to hear that betaine can cause a side effect – it’s shown to cause fishy odors in your breath and body secretions.

Inositol Stabilized Arginine Silicate
This is one of the complex sounding ingredients that haven’t proven to do much. In a nutshell, Arginine is an ineffective ingredient due to its poor absorption rate (therefore, it’s useless in oral supplements like PRE W.O).
As Arginine is part of this ingredient, as a whole, it’s not looking likely to work.
This is an amino acid that’s shown to improve your cognition in dosages between 500-2,000mg. The first problem is that Dymatize has underdosed this ingredient, so it won’t even be effective in PRE W.O.
The second problem is that caffeine already offers improved cognition, so there’s no need for both L-Tyrosine & Caffeine to be inside PRE W.O.
Caffeine is one of the best ingredients you can find in both fat burners and pre workouts. It’s proven itself to be both safe and effective in numerous studies.
We drink alot of coffee – about 5 cups of strong black coffee per day, so we can handle bigger dosages of caffeine than normal. As a result, 300mg isn’t a bad amount to have for us (but we realize it’ll cause others jitters).
When we’re recommending caffeine to the average user, 150-200mg is a safe option; with this dosage, you’ll experience the benefits without experiencing any side effects. We prefer pre workouts that offer 150mg caffeine, so you can take a ‘double serving’ of it, if you need an extra kick.
As PRE W.O contains the full 300mg per serving, you don’t have any option but to take it.
Coconut Water Powder
Everyone knows that coconut water is beneficial, and it’s able to help you stay hydrated even when you sweat. This is exactly why it’s a popular drink in sunny countries – especially Thailand.
It’s not a key ingredient in any pre workout, but its a useful ‘bonus’ to have when you’ve already consumed other useful nutrients. The problem is, PRE W.O is missing many key ingredients, so we would’ve preferred to see others such as Beetroot Extract instead.
If you don’t know what this is, all you need to know is that theacrine is a stimulant like caffeine – therefore, it’s believed to offer the same benefits.
However, it’s important to know that theacrine hasn’t been studied as much – making it unreliable. It’s not 100% whether theacrine causes any side effects yet, meaning it might cause jitters.
As a result, we’re avoiding theacine for now; at least until there’s solid evidence that it’s both safe and effective.

As PRE W.O contains 2 stimulants, there’s a risk you might experience jitters (which is quite a common side effect associated with pre workouts for this reason).
But that’s not all…beta-alanine causes paresthesia, and betaine has shown to cause you to suffer from fishy smells in your breath and body secretions.

Dymatize has tried to compete with the big boys by pricing this pre workout at $39.99. However, this hasn’t paid off for them – people who are prepared to pay more for supplements always do their research first (which is why you’re reading this review).
For this reason, you’ll learn that it’s simply not worth $39.99 – the nutrients in this product don’t match the claims made. In fact, the only good thing about PRE W.O is that it contains the right dosage of citrulline malate.
In a nutshell, for $39.99 you can get the best pre workout on the market instead.
