SAN Tight Review

|

I know what you’re thinking: In what way is this review ‘tight’?

In the way that it is both the name of the fat burner I am going to analyse and how you will report the quality of this review to your friends. Tight!

Tight! is a fat burner from sports supplement company SAN, which claims (verbatim) the product can perform the following things:

  • Increase resting metabolism*
  • Stimulate fat loss*
  • Encourage healthy Thyroid function*
  • Support elevated mood and stamina

About the Company

SAN Nutrition are based in California, and has been present in the supplement market since 1996.

Unlike most companies, SAN has fat burners that are aimed specifically at bodybuilders for their preparation right up to competition (we’re not reviewing that on this page)  along with various other supplements with a niche in the market, for example skin and hair supplements.

They obviously have a great interest in the culture of the gym-goer’s lifestyle as well as their workout habit. Which bodes well for this product.

The Ingredients and how they work

The serving size for this product is once a day with a meal. It is then stated that Tight! should not be taken more than once over a 24 hour period and that it shouldn’t be stacked with Ephedrine or Ephedra. If that’s the case, we should be in for some fairly strong stuff.

tight supp factsAh. Unfortunately all of this supplements ingredients have stonewalled us behind the cowardly shelter of the proprietary blend.

Not knowing what the actual dosage of any of these ingredients can be, I can’t make a judgement as to whether or not this is safe with complete certainty.

We’ll just work through the list and see which ingredient should, or should not be trusted.

Caffeine Anhydrous – This is a fairly straight forward ingredient in most fat burners. Caffeine raises the energy levels and the metabolism of the user to kick start them into burning weight and the energy to maintain it.

Green Tea Extract – A beloved component to any mix at Supplement Tester, the catechins in Green Tea help the bodies hormone norepenphrine burn calories via the promotion of an internal thermogenic process within the body.

Synephrine – Also known as Bitter Orange extract. It is a constant favorite in the fat loss market, which is a huge worry knowing the side effects and what the product is capable of when combined with caffeinated products.

Guggulsterones E & Z – Increasing the metabolic rate of cells in the body, the plant steroid does most of its work by reacting with the user’s thyroid.

Sclareolide – Taken as an extract from clary sage, Sclareolide may give an active boost in performance. Helps with the metabolism of lipid fats and thyroid production.

Yohimbine – A suppressor of fat metabolism, Yohimbine contributes to fat loss by strengthening the impact of the beta-subunits in the adrenergic receptor system of the body.

Vinpocetine – an extract from the seeds of the periwinkle plant that may increase blood flow to the brain, vinpocetine is apparently a neuroprotector and improves memory. Vinpocetine’s full effects are unproven.

Bioperine – A specially grown type of black pepper that helps the body absorb more nutrients from the supplement it is a component of.

Side Effects

The main concern, as always with products like this, is the use of synephrine. Bitter Orange extract does interact well with caffeine potent herbs in the body, like Green Tea. In doing so Bitter Orange can give the user a range of side effects including:

  • Increased risk of heart attack
  • High blood pressure
  • Fainting
  • Stroke
  • Headaches

On top of this, we don’t know how much of either extract we are dealing with in this product. This is due to the entire ingredients falling under the umbrella of a proprietary blend, making the product harder to analyse and potentially more risky for your health, especially as it’s potent enough to require just one serving per 24 hour period.

Tight! Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Tight! uses a lot of natural ingredients

Cons

  • Synephrine can be a major problem when it is linked with Green Tea Extract in terms of side effects
  • The entire ingredient list is a proprietary blend
  • Only one dose is required a day – this is a very strong stimulant

Tight! Review Conclusion

Tight! although using a lot of natural ingredients, falls down in very basic areas of a supplement.

Firstly, it is far too potent that it comes with warnings for it not to be taken with other stimulants, and offers one serving a day. This is open to abuse, people could easily double dose, if they feel they are not experiencing the effects – which leads to serious trouble.

Secondly, badly mixed ingredients. Synephrine and Green Tea should not appear in the same playground. They do not get a long, and the side effects (noted above) can be barbaric.

Thirdly, PROPRIETARY BLENDS, this is a cheap way that companies use to get out of marking up how much of each ingredient they are using. It is suspect and potentially dangerous.

Finally, do not buy this product.
